Robert Edward Barrett, 93, died Tuesday, March 6, 2013 at Hospice Savannah.
He was born in Scranton, Pennsylvania, and was a graduate of The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. He served in World War II as a B-25 pilot in the South Pacific Theater. After retirement from the Reader's Digest in 1984, he and his wife Lucy moved to Savannah from Haddonfield, New Jersey. He was a member of Skidaway Island Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by his wife, Lucy Mack Barrett, his son, William P. Barrett Nancy Uscher, of Seattle, Washington, daughter, Anne C. Barrett Gary Lucci of Cary, North Carolina, daughter, Jean C. Jaiswal Pratyush of Portland, Oregon, and daughter, Carol L. Barrett, of Beaverton, Oregon. He is also survived by step-children, Robert E. Bennett, of Flagstaff, Arizona, Harriet L. Bennett, of Bellevue, Washington, and Lucy Ellen Bennett, of Kirkland, Washington, and granddaughter, Alessandra H. Barrett, of Los Angeles, California.
A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 a.m., Monday, March 11, 2013 at Skidaway Island Presbyterian Church.
